We are licensed by the State of Kansas as a Day Care Home.  We chose to become licensed to provide day care, rather than simply registered, because it provides the most assurance to you as a parent that we are prepared and held accountable to the highest standards. Before being licensed, the provider is required to become first aid certified and to obtain at least 15 hours of relevant training.  To be relicensed each year, the provider must obtain at least 5 additional hours of training.  This training helps equip us with the knowledge and skills to provide your child with the best possible care.

Besides the training requirements, being licensed means that we undergo a yearly inspection by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment and by the Wichita Fire Department to ensure that we are meeting stringent standards for providing a safe, healthy, and stimulating day care environment.  These standards include having smoke detectors on each level and in each room the children occupy, having fire extinguishers on each level, having two safe exits from each level, covering outlets and locking away all dangerous substances, following sanitary diapering and food preparation procedures, providing balanced, nutritious meals, providing appropriate activites and toys, and much more.
